Alpha Computer Training has facilitated several Workplace Education Programs for small to medium sized businesses in Amherst, Parrsboro and Truro, Nova Scotia over the last three years. New programs will include Enfield, Springhill and Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.
As a member of the Association of Workplace Educators of Nova Scotia (AWENS), Jeff Brown of Alpha Computer has completed ten off-site full day certification training workshops. Jeff has also completed many other Department of Labour & Workforce Development training workshops involving Adult Education. This training is necessary to equip workplace education instructors with the necessary skills to provide a consistent high level of training.
Some of the topics taught over the last few years have included:

- Microsoft Publisher
- Microsoft PowerPoint training
- Microsoft Outlook & effective email strategies
- Essential Computer Skills training - file and folder organization, using programs and Windows
- Internet Safety & effective web surfing strategies
- Social Media for Business: Twitter, Facebook, and SEO skills
- Basic web site design strategies
Each program is customized for the participants. An Initial Needs Accessment of the particiapnts is completed. Then the Instructor builds the course around the needs of the participants.
