Steve Peifer - Solar Computer Labs In Kenya
There is a saying..."Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime." Steve Peifer is doing both. He is helping to feed kids at 25 different schools in Kenya and he is providing computer training to these kids in solar labs. He hopes to give them a better future and help them get better jobs with these new skills. Imagine impacting a nation for the good, one child at a time. Some of these kids have gone to Harvard University and other great universities.

Steve Peifer uses Dell computers in solar computer labs as well as dedicated instructors to make a difference in the lives of the kids he is helping. The kids are taught introductory computer skills and Microsoft Office programs.
The solar labs are made from containers which have had holes cut in them for windows. The floors are made of wood. The solar panels are located directly on top of the roof. Steve has done an excellent job. He is trying to get a solar computer lab in all of the 25 schools he is helping to feed kids at. So far he has built 13 labs.
