Google+ is a new social media platform similar to Facebook

Google+ is the latest offering from Google to enter the social media arena. Like Facebook, you can make posts, share music, video and pictures. It is in the early stages of development. Currently, there are only personal profiles available at the moment (July 16, 2011). There are plans to have busines pages on Google+ in the near future.

What's unique about Google+:

  • Google+You put your friends and contacts into "Circles" instead of lists. You simply drag and drop people into a circle and you are done.
  • Privacy is assigned by selecting which circles you want your material put in. You can make things public or you can share things with your family only simply by selecting what you want.
  • The photo albums are easy to use. Adding pictures and assigning privacy to them is easy.

Google+ is still being developed and new features continue to come forth. Soon Google+ should be open to everyone to come and try it out.

For Google+ to be successful, it must have huge overall acceptance my the masses. I will share more in the future. The screen shot below shows Circles on Google+.
