Crime Stoppers Facebook Page - Leave A Tip Tab- Part 1
The following pages are designed to help Crime Stoppers programs and law enforcement agencies create a Facebook Tab so that individuals can "leave or submit a crime tip" to prevent or solve a crime. These pages will show the "How To" by guiding you through a step by step process.
Welcome video with initial comments on the process
Considerations for you to take note of:
- In 2012, FBML Facebook application will no longer function. If you have set up your Crime Stoppers Program using FBML, you will have to switch to iFrames. I have the solution that will work for you.
- You must set up a personal Facebook Profile User Account first to them set up a Facebook Page. Don't place Crime Stoppers on a Facebook Profile User Account. It is against the terms of agreement for Facebook. Create a Facebook Profile first and then set Crime Stoppers up on that Facebook Page.
- *** As a Crime Stoppers Program, if you need help, please contact me for help. This goes right to the phone on my hip. ***
- I can install the generic "Crime Stoppers" Facebook app for you if you will temporarily make me an Administrator of your Page. Other wise, please watch the video and read the notes to set this up for yourself.

Part 1: Creating a Facebook Page (If the Page does not exist)
- Log onto your Facebook account
- Type "Create New Facebook Page" into search box at top to find the web page to create a Facebook Page. As you start typing, you will see the page in the list appear in a drop down menu. I normally do not need to type any more than "Create".
- Click on Create NewFacebook Page
At this point you should should see the following screen:

You will want to select "Company, Organization or Institution" as the type of page you want to create and you will give the Page a name such as "Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers". Then choose the Category that best fits. Agree to the terms and click on "Get Started" button.

Part 2: Creating A Static HTML IFrame App - For "Leaving A Tip"
We are now going to add an extra app or "Tab", to what is already part of the newly created Page. Follow the following steps:
- Click in the Facebook Search box in the top of the Facebook application.
- Type static HTML into search box.
- Find "Static HTML: iFrame tabs". Click on it.
- On the left side, about the middle height, look for "Add to My Page".
- A window opens up. Find your Facebook Page in that window and click on "Add to Page" button.
- You will now see a"Welcome" tab underneath your Profile Picture on the left side of the Facebook Page.
You have now successfully added the Static HTML iFrame tab/application to your Facebook Page.
