Information For Buying A Printer
When buying a color printer, you need to make sure that the printer has more than one color cartridge. If you are going to do a lot of printing, this will save you money.
A single color cartridge contains three small reservoirs of color ink. Each reservoir has a different color. When one runs out, the color goes funny. I use a lot of blue ink. This is where my blue pictures suddenly go pink. The other two remaining colors are not run out, but my blue ink is done. Time to get another cartridge. What a waste!
A color printer should have at least three separate color ink cartridges, beside the black ink cartridge, so that each one can be replaced separately when needed. This will insure that all your color ink cartridges are used wisely and you get the best use of your printer dollar.
When buying a printer, you should price the replacement ink cartridges for each model also. That great deal in the flyer might not be a great deal when you check out the price of the refill.
When buying a laser printer, make sure you check out the cost of the toner cartridges also. This will be the big expense for the printer over the life of its operation.
If you are not going to print in color it is way more cost effective to buy a laser printer. They have come down in price and the quality of the print is better. The yield per toner as compared to an ink jet is 10 to 1.
